Malcolm X in was a young guy from the streets who dropped out of 8th grade and then went to prison. In prison he learned how to read since it was the only thing he could do. When coming out of prison he became an advocate.
In ways that literacy narrative we had for society would be that you read and learn from history. The global message is that we need to read about history for it not to repeat itself all over again.
It still very important right now to know about history as shared in the past , so history won’t repeat itself.
