The question states that Cisneros and her father have different ideas about what it means to be successful. How and why do they differ?
They different in the sense when her dad thinks how having a girl he thinks of her getting a husband and not having schooling or anything of the working matter. But for her it’s not about having a husband it’s about making her dad proud in a way she can express it. In her way she becomes a very good writer and ends up getting on of her books on the the new york times which is a pretty big deal. All she wants is to not be seen as one of the seven sons even though she’s a girl she wants to be seen as a women who can make her life what it is today without a husband.

I chose the same question and I couldn’t agree more! I found it interesting how her father eventually was fine with the idea of her going to college, but his reasoning behind was much different than hers.
